Epson, the brand, was developed in 1975, and created their first printer (a dot matrix printer) in 1978. Epson products are often thought to be the best in their class but that doesn't mean they are perfect as they come with errors just like any other technology product. The most commonly seen customer complaints and concerns are ink-related errors. These include ink cartridges not being properly inserted despite the fact that the customer inserted them in the exact same fashion as past cartridges, ink color malfunctions (one color not working properly, or only one color working at all), and the printer reading the printer cartridges as empty when they are not. Customers often end up with a worthless piece of technology that doesn't work as it was intended to, perhaps not working at all or printing without any red tones. Regardless, all of those unfortunate soles are greatly inconvenienced and frustrated.
There are hundreds of similar complaints within the same theme that are located on sites all around the internet. Apparently, the ink heads like to clog frequently and when they do so there is no way to easily fix the problem, unless you purchase a special liquid made by Epson- an additional expense added to the already high prices of ink. In addition to these mechanical complaints, consumers are not happy with the high cost of the ink cartridges themselves. To make matters worse, in 2003, a group of customers filed a lawsuit against Epson stating that cartridges were designed to read as empty before they actually were.
While there are alternatives to Epson ink- off brands, ink refill kits, and remanufactured ink that may slash costs to the buyer, they too can be met with deceiving error messages sent from printer to computer screen, halting any printing jobs till a solution can be found.
Epson's printer line ranges from inexpensive, basic home printers (even given away with some desktop computer purchases) to costly, highly specialized, business oriented models. No matter who you are, a student trying to meet a paper deadline, or an employee trying to print out those Powerpoint slides for a presentation, it can be very frustrating when you are trying to print something and the printer doesn't work properly. Surely, there were times when each of us could relate to cartoons depicting the character destroying a computer, printer or similar product.
Devoted Epson followers need to keep searching for solutions to their ink related dilemmas and maintain a sense of humor about it, whereas those less dedicated will most likely find solutions with less? history of glitches. Finding the solutions to your printer problems has never been easier, all you need to do is a quick search on the internet and you are bound to find a viable solution. It seems like it would be much easier for Epson to create products that don't malfunction as much before they lose too many customers.
